Are the Rockets better than the Lakers now?

It seems that way on paper, but I think it'll all come down to the health of the team. What do you think? And why?

Injuries are likely to come into play.

That should favor the Lakers.

Yao and McGrady are more likely to be injured than Gasol or Bynum.

I am not sure that the Rockets look better than the Lakers on paper.

Chances are pretty good that Bynum and Gasol will be able to be on the floor together, that could mean quite an improvement.

Sasha should improve.

As a Laker fan, I am concerned about Artest. I remember how T. Prince shut Kobe down in the finals a few years back, Artest could do the same this year. Artest seems to have matured. If he sets the tone for the Rockets defensively they could be very tough.

Overall though I expect Bynum and Gasol to thrieve together with Bynum making up for Gasols few weak areas, freeing Gasol up to do what he does best.

it all depends how well artest fits in with the rockets, and yes a lot depends on who can stay healthy

personally i still think the lakers have the edge

yeah i think the rockets are better than the lakers because they rely too much on kobe. people can say that gasol or fischer are also stars (which can be true) but the team is built on kobe. the  rockets have yao and t mac and now artest. if they can stay healthy, the lakers wont stand a chance in the playoffs

Lakers have that sissy Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant, while key role players like Derek Fisher and whoever else sucks.  Their key player is their coach, Phil Jackson, who won't stop winning and freaking retire so all the other teams can stand a chance.

I think so but not by much. T-Mac is still 1 of the top 5 players in the league and can still go. Yao the best center in the league, Artest and Battier can take turns being in Kobe's face 24/7. The only questions is can T-mac stay healthy and wtf is going on in ron ron's head. And i know this sound stupid but i hope francis come back and become at least a decent player. can u imagine this

We don't really know if Ron Artest will fit in.I'm just afraid that Yao Ming will be the next victim.
