Are the Sims games appropriate for kids to play?

I have 3 kids in the age range of 10-15 and was wondering if Sims is ok for them to play? My oldest really wants to play it but I'm not too sure. What do you think?

I think that it would be ok for the older kids. I would let my 13 year old play it but I wouldn't let my 10 year old. For the most part it is a good came to play as I have all of them for the PC and a couple for the gamecube and 1 for the playstation 2. I would play it myself for a little while before I decided. The main part that would concern me is the WooHoo and Try for baby. It doesn't show anything so I think it would be fine for a 13 year old but I don't want my 10 year old thinking about things like that.

I would say yes, they also make expansion packs and things like the Sims Pets, that im sure the younger ones would prob really love.  I have been playing the Sims for years.

Yea, I think it is. I've been playing Sims since I was about 11. I think it's an okay game for them to play.

Sure, the game is pretty appropriate as long as you don't know all the cheats, and it teaches skills like money management (well sort of). My cousin learned to read playing that game.

I'd say, play it first if you're worried (couples can reproduce, but I would assume that by 10 kids know the basics of that), read a couple of reviews, but then don't worry about it.

I have the Sims Bustin Out  it is a very good game and is not bad for children in your childrens age range.

15 is definetly appropriate, i've been playing it since i was like 13. when the parents have s*x to make a baby eveything is censored.

if the oldest one is fifteen,

i deffinitley think he/or she should be able to play.

by that age they would be mature enough to handle anything on there, if there is anything bad. which there is nothing extreme because i play that game. also it is rated teen and when your fifteen you've already passed the age of thirteen. so i think he/or she should be allowed.

as for the ten year old... im not really sure... but if you let the other two play, im sure the ten year old will be fine. :)

its good to know that you make sure what they play is safe though :)

it's not like there's anything in the games that your kids have never heard of before.
