People who live there pay less rent due to this benefit? does that mean that if I want to live in one of those it will be cheaper for me?

  1. It is the working people who pay for those who do not want to work. Working people's taxes help to pay for the accommodations of the welfare class.

  2. Toronto Community Housing is subsidized by the city. About 93% of the people who live in these buildings pay rent that is lower than market value. The waiting list for community housing is really long and it takes some people years to get in, but if you do qualify and a space opens up for you, you'll likely pay a cheaper rent which is geared to the amount of money you make.
