Question:

Are the Trailblazers cursed?

Greg Oden missed his entire rookie season. Now that he's back and looking good, Brandon Roy is having knee surgery. So how long does it typically take to recover from arthroscopic knee surgery? Will it affect the Blazers this year? Who's next to go down? Aldridge? (again)

  1. yep, first was oden, now is roy. next year, it may be alridge or bayless

  2. its not looking as great as it did before roys surgery.  the blazers still look like a very talented group of young guys, and i believe theyll become a very respected and a fan favorite team soon.

the jailblazers have lost its rep from the early 2000s.

  3. Once upon a time they were called the "JailBlazers," I think they can start over again because they have Oden, think of him as Tim Duncan(though it's impossible to surpass Tim's achievements).

  5. Arthroscopy is much less traumatic to the muscles, ligaments, and tissues than the traditional method of surgically opening the knee with long incisions (arthrotomy). The benefits of arthroscopy involve smaller incisions, faster healing, a more rapid recovery, and less scarring. Arthroscopic surgical procedures are often performed on an outpatient basis and the patient is able to return home on the same day.

While an arthroscope is used in many different types of surgical procedures, the recovery time and outcome of the procedure is related to the type of injury and the type of arthroscopic surgical procedure performed. For example, an arthroscopic surgical ligament reconstruction will take longer to heal and the recovery time will be longer then the patient who has an arthroscopic removal of a loose body.

    Are the Blazers Cursed?

After undergoing an exploratory arthroscopic surgery today (Sep. 13th) in Vancouver, Washington, the 19-year-old big man was revealed to have articular cartilage damage in his right knee. Oden then underwent microfracture surgery - a typically brief and minimally invasive surgery done to help regenerate cartilage growth around the knee.

What this amounts to is a collective finger crossing by Trailblazer fans. Anytime the words "exploratory", and "microfracture" are uttered pertaining to an athlete, people tend to get shaken up, and with good reason: microfracture surgery has been either career ending or a sever set-back to a number of basketball players, such as: Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway, Jamal Mashburn, Terrell Brandon, and Kenyon Martin.

Hopefully his recovery will go well and he will not be plaqued by problems.

Lets just pray for healing and for safety for all the team...we can't predict the future.
