  1. not in the story that is my favorite story and when they cut them down they did not grow back and the whole place got all gross

Hypothetically, yes.  Any tree is a renewable resource because it can be replanted from seed and be replaced when one is removed.  (the entire point of the giving the seeds for the truffula tree at the end of the story - there may yet again be a truffula woods if they were planted).  If a resource can be replaced in a short amount of time, then it's a renewable resource.  Those that can't be replaced easily (oil, natural gas, coal) because of the time needed to create them are non-renewable.
