  1. I don't think they are either, they use appropriate force whether it be restraint, the use of incapacity spray or even a baton. If a criminal brandishes a firearm the police will draw on firearm support units, if there is more serious disorder Support Group (t will be called upon and Taser may be called upon such as the Mets TSG or Merseyside's Matrix Teams. and tasers may be deployed by such support groups along with police dogs.

    The Police also have helicopters, intercept cars and lots of other specialist units and equipment.

    The UK Police generally use force in proportion to the situation they are faced with.

    Merseyside Police have seen crime fall under their Zero Tolerance Approach  -
