I was thinking of going to Snowbird, Brighton, or Solitude on Saturday.

  1. I agree with Solitude being the best bet for skiing on a saturday. While Utah got a great dump of snow last weekend, terrain open at all three of those resorts is pretty limited, so it will pack skiers onto just a few lifts.

Sunday is usually a better day at a couple resorts.  Other Saturday options that are good all season are Snowbasin, Powder mountain.

  2. Well, Solitude is never really that crowded (as the name would suggest).   Snowbird will be packed, and Alta will be busy but not as much seeing that it is a skiers only mountain.   Never skied at Brighton so can't comment on that, but I know it wont be as busy as Snowbird.

  3. are you kidding?  It's Touron central.  If you don't mind crowds have fun but if it is big deal to have the mtn to yourself go Mon or Tues.  When do you think the rest of the state goes riding????

  4. You could be on Middle-Of-Nowhere Mountain in Lostville and if they have groomed trails it will be more crowded on week-ends. That's when people have off work, it's a given.

  5. It will be an absolute zoo there. Also do not park on the streets where there are no parking signs. They will write you up and maybe even tow. I was there last year and had to park a mile away to park legally. On the walk back to the truck I counted about 97 tickets on every vehicle! They had the police out in force! Imagine the money they made on that one day!!!

  6. Probably not too bad yet. With the low snow pack, late start, and Christmas around the corner, I think the numbers are lower than you will find after Christmas.

But if you can go on Sunday, lots of locals are in church, so you will find more room to shred. That's what I love about this place. Except on a huge powder day, then the hypocrites hit the slopes...even on a Sunday. Go figure.
