  1. if their walk off win against the socks a few mins ago sparks them, i think its not.  this win needs to set off a spark for them.  it will be very tough with wang and have joba injured.  i am a die hard yankees fan but im just not too sure

  2. YES!!! And that stinks!!! They pretty much blew their opportunity during the 10-game road-trip where they came home with 2 wins (about 2 weeks ago) . Since then they have blown ALOT of games. Injuries hurt us-Wang, Posada, Matsui, and a ton of pitchers. But I have to say that Girardi had a good 1st year. Look for him to manage this team for a long time.

  3. Yes its true. They pay so much money for there players and teams like the Rays who have virtually no payroll go and win there division. The Yanks are sad.

  4. yeah there pretty much done unless they win like 20 in a row........ there done

  5. well Jason Giambi just tied up the ball game with a huge homerun...they should have kept Lester, he went 6.2 innings, 0 runs allowed......Okajima went .1 innings, 2 runs allowed

  6. no its not over yet, if the rockies did it last year, the yankees could pull it off. they just have to start hitting when people in scoring position but its not over until the fat ladies sings and so far JD Drew mother haven't sang yet!!!

  7. Put a fork in them.

Payroll and talent have nothing to do with it.  No less a Yankee great than Babe Ruth once said, "The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime."

  8. I hate the Yankees with a deep passion, but you can NEVER count this team out until it becomes mathematically impossible for them to make the playoffs.

  9. No way, they just beat the Red Sox today and they're like 5 or 6 games behind them for the Wild-Card playoff spot. It's only the end of August and they still have a month left of the regular season.

  10. It's a case of too many Cheifs, and too little Indians.

  11. i think they deffianetly are now...theres time for them to try to catch up...but in the end...i dotn think theyll be participating in october baseball
