Are the Yankees overworking Joba?

I know the Red Sox are very careful with pitchers starting their their first year ar a starting pitcher. They keep the under a pitch count and somtimes shut them down.

I don't think so he left the game with a stiff right (either elbow or arm so that means he hasn't been throwing. But the Yankees could be over working him.

No.  He's a pitcher.  He throws a high-90s fastball.  He throws a hard slider.  He weighs well over 225 pounds.  He's going to develop arm and shoulder stiffness (and possibly other problems) from time to time, and he's going to sit.  He's a pitcher.  It's what happens.

im a big yankee fan and i definately do not think they are overworking JOBA. they took time to transition him in as a starter. His pitch counts are monitored and Girardi has plenty of experience with pitchers and will know when JOBA has had enough in a game. plus the Yankee bullpen has come together nicely to enter in in the 7th if neeed.

He's good as a starter because the Yankees really needed an extra one.  Although, I think they should have just traded for a good starter and keep Joba in the bullpen because he was an awesome set-up man for Mariano.  Anyway, I don't think they're overworking him.  He was just trying to hard out of frustration.

no he only pitches 6 innings every time he goes out to pitch, its not like they are working him for 7-8 innings a start.

No. His pitch counts per start have been under 100 pitches most of the time.

No he's a starting pitcher, if anything he needs to get his innings up so he can at least pitch through the seventh. Plus these things happen, so far I've heard its only a strain and he'll only miss one start. Only problem there its against the Angels.
