  1. Inflatables with very high psi

  2. The tires are typically inflatable. Furthermore, large aircraft are filled to a very high PSI and typically use nitrogen gas instead of air.

  3. Always inflatable ( and expensive) from the smallest to the largest aircraft.

  4. to some student pilots the tires are these indestructible cushions that can't explode no matter how bad you bounce off the runway.

    tubeless inflatable

  5. If you are talking about a passenger plane like a boeing or an airbus the tyres are inflatable for a soft landing/takeoff.

    Hope that helps!

  6. As you can tell by all the previous answers, the tires are inflated.  Another disadvantage with solid tires is weight.  Also solid tires would never hold up to the high speeds during take-offs and landings.

  7. Commercial airliners have inflatable tires, usually mounted on split rim wheels.

  8. They are inflatable. Most all high speed rated aircraft tires have hard side wall like a run flat.  A lot of the smaller GA tires use inner tube.  Not all aviation tires are expensive, but once you start going up in size they can get pricey.  Aircraft that fly at high altitudes use nitrogen instead of oxygen.

  9. Inflatable
