I'm flying to Kenya in a couple of weeks and I overheard that people are paying a fee for their carry-on luggages. First, I'm flying with American Airlines then switch to British Airways.

  1. If you got your tickets before they announced the charge, you're fine. However, if you are getting tickets after the notice, then you will have to pay.

As far as I know, American Airlines, and I believe it's US Airways are the only two companies to be charging for baggage. It's $15 for the first checked bag, and $25 for the second.

However, I don't think anyone is charging for carry-on luggage. That would just be ridiculous.

  2. There aren't any fees for carry on luggage, but you are only allowed to bring a total of two things with you:

A piece of luggage that fits in the "size wise" thing by the gate. It ensures luggage will fit in the overhead.

Ladies, you can bring a purse or laptop, not both.

Men, you can bring a brief case or a laptop, not both unless the laptop fits in the brief case or satchel.
