  1. "Organic," free-range, and factory-farmed animals are all killed in the same manner.  It's not cost-effective to do it any other way.  It's a business and "free-range" is a marketing gimmick aimed at people's consciences who just won't go vegan.  Now if everyone stopped buying these slaughtered animals, then the killing could stop.

  2. Until the point they are killed, maybe.

But if they are killed, doesn't that defeat the whole point?

  3. No all of that is the norm and happens in all farms and slaughterhouses. You can not kill/slaughter anyone humanely or nicely, you are taking away their life and killing them to eat them.

  4. The point is the animal is KILLED. That's just about as inhumane as it gets.

Think about it: If I killed your child with a bullet, would you thank me for not beating it before killing it?

    Still dead.

  5. um either way the animal is killed. I don't see how that would be humane.

  6. No.  It isn't cost effective to treat "food animals" humanely.

  7. It's all bullsh!t when they claim it's organic, free range or cruelty-free. Alot of slaughter houses/farmers pay off the usda to put those titles on the label, it's sad really.

  8. I don't think there is such a thing as organic slaughterhouses. But there are cruel and crueler slaughterhouses and methods.

But livestock that is organic is likely to have received a less cruel life up to the point of transport to market. In fact, just being antibiotic free means that the animal has a little room to itself whereas livestock given prophylactic antibiotics are crammed together very tight.

  9. if you are worried about that eat kosher meat

  10. nope its a lie thers no suck things as happy animals raised for food and bsides "organic" companies pay millions to advertise as organic.

  11. If you're living in the arctic circle or the plains of sub-Saharan Africa, then you likely need to eat meat to survive.

In North America, it's completely optional, people eat it because they enjoy the taste.

Is killing someone because you like the way they taste humane?

  12. no they just don't give the 'organic' animals antibiotics or gross leftover animals to eat.

although i'm not sure. maybe they still feed them the same

  13. No. "Happy" meat and dairy don't exist. Check out http://www.humanemyth.org/

  14. Good question. "Organic" has a nice image, but it just means "drug-free and chemical-free." That's it. The label has absolutely no relevance to animal welfare. Animals on organic farms are often treated no better than animals on factory farms. Also, they are usually shipped to the same slaughterhouses that kill animals from factory farms.
