I really like all three animes and would love to see more episodes of them. But not only were there not too many episodes made but the ratings of these three are pretty low.

  1. yeah i havnt watched comic party s2 or angelic layer yet but comic party was awesome

  2. I haven't seen Comic Party or Futakoi but Angelic Layer was awesome.  As with most CLAMP titles there are links between all of its new series with old ones.

Angel Layer is the 'technical' prequel to Chobits.  Some of the characters from AL reappear in Chobits and themes of 'what is a real life' and 'are bonds between humans and robots equal to other human relationships' occur in both.

Specifically, (from the Wiki pages themselves)

"The [Angelic Layer] manga series is set a few years before Chobits, a Clamp work in the same universe as Angelic Layer. In the manga, Icchan plays an important role in the Chobits storyline, but this connection was reduced to a single scene in the anime; he has a brief cameo but is not mentioned by name in the Chobits anime. Kaede's younger brother Minoru is also a Chobits character."

"In the [Chobits] anime, Chitose Hibiya's late husband Ichiro is not named, nor is his affiliation with the creation of Angelic Layer mentioned. In the manga, he is mentioned by name. [3]"

I loved Chobits and found it to be a wonderful sequel.  I would have loced to see the AL series go on for longer but I'm satisfied with it overall - it didn't stretch out too much and become dull, which can happed with some anime series.

I hope I helped and gave you some useful information!

  3. I agree.. Ive watched angelic layer and comic party and they are both great anime... i have also searched for reviews regarding as to why they do not gain much of an audience compared to other CLAMP works... and the usual reviews would always give them a 5/5

  4. I would have to say so, as I have never heard of them
