First it's Japan in the world baseball classic and now south korea in the olympics. China is gaining ground fast as well.

  1. Well, USA beat China in the Bronze Medal game so no.

  2. No, the Dominican will always have more better players come out i think.

Maybe in Little League Japan is dominant. But not in the older life. China puts too much pressure on their little ones i think. Baseball is a game where you obviously have to just relax and play.

  3. No. Maybe in little league but by no means professionally.

  4. No, it's because the USA puts out their D team (all minor leaguers) as opposed to Japan and China and South Korea putting their A team (best of the major leaguers) out there.

It's not fair for us to expect so much of these 22 year olds that have never even been in the Majors to go face experienced veterans.  I mean, I think they did reasonable well.

The more accurate assessment of baseball ability is the World Baseball Classic where the USA actually does put its best guys on the field.

And congrats to South Korea on beating Cuba lol. (Power to the Underdogs!)

  5. no

  6. Yes

  7. To be fair, South Korea and Japan didn't put out their 'BESTEST' players. It is pretty much their A squad but few players was missing from both side. But I can understand where you guys are coming from. To answer this question, probably not. But they've never played against each other at their best so we'll never know. We'd for sure know though that Cuba, Korea, Japan and US are top 4 right now.

  8. No.  If Major League players played in these competitions, the U.S. would fair much better.  They wouldn't win every game, but they would do better.

  9. Well after WW II, the U.S solders tought these countries how to play baseball, so it does not surprise me of there success..

  10. I love Japanese baseball. I think its one of the most coolest baseball leagues. Players really get mentally and physically prepared there to come and play in the MLB.

    Hope that answers.

  11. Not really. How many Japanese players have really "excelled" in the MLB? There's only been a couple, the rest are just mediocre at best.

No Korean or Chinese player has yet dominated MLB. Until that happens, the answer is NO!!

  12. No.

  13. no for the simply reason of we have never let are best players play them. We only let minor league players play them.

  14. No, we just never put our best teams for these tournaments. Even in the WBC a couple of years back, we could of fielded a better team. I think the teams in the Caribbean islands (Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba ect...) are as good as the Asian teams. I still think the USA has the best baseball talent in the world.
