I saw the women diving and the 2 chinese contestents performed a perfect dive and won a gold medels The show said they are 20 years old. However, they look like 14 barely. Is it possible that they or some of those contestents lie about the age?

  1. Chinese people always look younger when they are not!

They can't lie to the borad!

  2. It is possible. The thing is, so what if they lie? They won the gold fair and square.

  3. Honestly, the age limit is a stupid rule. They only have it in some sports. If you have the capability, willpower, and determination to compete, age shouldn't matter. Bela Kirolyi may be right that some of the competitors are less than 16, but he also made the point that he felt that the rule should be removed completely. It should also be noted that even if their age had been faked, none of the competitors were thought to be less than 15. The main unfairness is that other competitors who are under 16 may not have gotten a chance to compete from other countries. Regardless of age, all competitors earned their metals only through talent and skill. There's nothing fake about that. Besides, it's completely ridiculous to assume all Chinese competitors were underage. Chinese people generally look younger than their Western counterparts. Get over it.

The fireworks? People need to read better. Again, it was the broadcasting station that computer generated aerial shots of what they thought the real thing would look like for safety reasons. The fireworks themselves were set off. Nothing faked there.

As for the two girls and the lip syncing. That was a shame. They should have just let the girl with talent sing and perform the whole thing. They didn't fake the singing, but they weren't forthcoming about who was doing what. That was something officials in the government made a very poor and tasteless judgment about. However, it should not be a reflection of the Chinese people. It was the music director himself who felt the need to let this come to light on his own, and all Chinese I have talked to are enraged that this was allowed to happen. Anyway, people should stop with uninformed, negative bashing. Stick to the facts please.

Oh by the way, King of the Caribbean, having some lip syncing for less than 2 minutes of the ceremony hardly makes a dent in the flawless and magnificent ceremony overall. Trying to extrapolate that into the Chinese having "faked" everything is pure and simple stupidity. Please use your brain.

  4. YES!  I've been watching the games everyday non-stop and the Chinese are having "ILLEGAL" participants.  But, the have them registered as "16 yr. olds". IDK , how, but yes they are underage.  They are tiny, little girls that are only 12 competing against 16-20 yr. olds.  It's something that needs to be adressed. Bela Kirolyi the long time coach of the U.S. has already pointed this out.  Everything about their Olympics are fake....The fireworks were fake, the cute little girl singing the HYMN of the WORLD was fake, and now underage kids with legal IOC badges (International Olympic Committee) it's a shame.

  5. Of course ...Chinese can fake any thing , so what's the big deal in faking some athlete's age for the sake of some medals ??

  6. i don't think they would in the olympics. in like pro sports i've heard of it, but never the olympics.

  7. no. why would they lie? i'm 22 and people always ask me if i'm 16.

  8. they said one is 15, the other one is 16 on NBC

    stop making things up

  9. Chinese people look very young so dont worry about it
