They were nervous all weekend...now they are attacking her daughter because they think that Governor Palin is too tough for them take take her on.

I don't agree with the bashing of Mrs Obama either; it went over the top.  However, in trying to make Governor Palin out to be a hypocrite, they show their own hatred and hypocrisy even more.

I don't consider it payback at all. McCain simply chose a candidate that most people don't know anything about, so naturally it's going to raise questions.

I really don't see  attacks. I see a lot of defense from people here, but I don't see anything about Palin and her daughter except statements of fact about her pregnancy. The media are far from attacking, they are deferring to her.

Attacks by who? Did you hear what Obama had to say about this? He was completely against the media talking about Palin's daughter saying "children are off limits" and that the "scandal" is distracting people from the important issues that we face as Americans.

I am neither a Dem or Repub, but Obama is right and I applaud his response to the media.

I'm still wondering how you think Palin was such a great pick? Her inexperience cancels out the argument that McCain had about Obama. She looks and sounds more like another First Lady than she does a VP. The news about her abusing her authority to terminate an Alaskan State Trooper and how she has now hired a lawyer for that doesn't help her at all. Neither does her dealings with a lobbyist group that got her congressional earmarks for her hometown. Her right-wing stances on everything is going to drive alot of independent voters away. Either she wasn't properly vetted or McCain is just getting senile.

I think she's a great pick because she's an awful choice and I want Obama to win.

We are not attacking her. Personally I thought McCain would have put up a better fight than to choose this woman as his VP. Its more shock than worry. Its like what kind of President will McCain be if he cant even choose a VP with substance.

Michelle brought it upon herself with her words and actions in public arenas while actively campaigning for her husband.  Sarah Palin's public record is open.  The fact that she has a child with Down's Syndrome, or her husband's driving record from two decades is not.

And the attacks on her daughter are reprehensible.  Libs still squeal about Rush talking about Clinton's daughter more than a decade ago, but that hasn't stopped them from viciously attacking both of the Bush Twins and now Sarah's daughter who has apparently made some very bad decisions, as many teenagers do.

How about maybe it the lack of judgment in making this choice; or maybe the short sightedness of the choice; or how about the lack of or inadequate vetting process.

1 - Sarah Palin is being investigated for attempting to have her sisters husband terminated as a state trooper; this occurred when she took office.

2- Sarah Palin is being held as the only candidate with executive experience.  Are you aware that when she was Mayor of her home town - population 8,000 - she took office with a balanced budget and left office with a $20 million deficit.  She has been Gov. for 20 months and she just gave birth in April.  Due to the pregnancy and vacation time she only worked as Gov. for 16 months - less than 1.5 years.

3. Alaska has a total population of 670,000 people that's it.  I'm from New York City; Brooklyn is a county in New York City and has 2.5 million people.  That's just the city, not the entire state.  To say she has "executive experience" is to put her position as Governor in the same league as California's, Chicago's, Texas, Penn, NY or even Nevada's Governor post.  She's more like a council chair person than a true Governor.   She could never do any of the other Gov. jobs but they could all do hers.

4. Mrs. Palin came to office as a fighter against waste and earmarks.  But since coming to office she has help bring over $50 million to Alaska in the form of earmarks.  Didn't McCain say he is against earmarks?

5. Republicans run on a ticket of family values, she agrees with the anti-abortion ticket and on abstinence as a result.  If this is so then she needs to explain why she wants to impose abstinence as the only form of s*x ed for our public schools when she can't seem to teach that lesson successfully in her own home.

Sarah Palin continues to be a great American story. She is a tough, compelling, amazing story. And what she is experiencing with her daughter is something plenty of American families have experienced and can relate to.
