  1. If you are from the US you will find the weather in July beautiful. Think 80 degree days and 60 degree nights. Rio is always happening.

  2. The beaches are crowded weekends but usually not on weekdays. There are less people in July usually and not all that crowded. Depends on where you go also. Botafogo and

Pao de Acucar (an area from Sant Dumont airport until the tunnel), then Cococabana, Ipanema and Leblon (really the same beach). There are also areas further south like Barra Tijuca.

Realize it is the middle of winter. The coldest it ever got was about 11C that I ever remembered while I was living there. There are periods of rain that lasts for a few days but it all depends on what you expect. I am an American from Nebraska so it was never really bad for me. I always thought it was funny, they all complained how cold it was and it wasn't even freezing yet! I left Omaha to arrive in Rio once and it was -6F when I left and 36C when I arrived so it all depends

    on what you expect.

  3. July is WINTERTIME in Brasil...remember they are opposite of the USA...

so it would be a bit cooler..but I am sure people are still going

July would be like January..but don't think of it EXACTLY like the USA..because..we are not tropical like Brasil...it can be warm there every day!

  4. i think so.

  5. It depends of the day. It is winter but when it is 22°c yes.

However when it is 17°C like last week, really no.

  6. I lived in Rio for five months last year. I was there at this time. The beaches are not so crowed in July but it is just as enjoyable and still wonderful fun. In hot weather the beaches are packed and full of activity - wonderful. At this time I found the beaches to be more open and quiet. But on a day with lots of sunshine everybody heads back out. My favorite beach was Ipanema....but you can walk to Copa or Leblon - that is part of the fun. The evenings can be a tad chilly - especially if there is rain...but I actually liked this time better because it was not so hot....I could walk around during the day and be very comfortable - and still put on a suit and go to the beach for some sunshine and fun.
