I don't know, this seems random.

But has anyone seen those dolls?!

And those are for little 5 years olds?!

What is society coming to...

  1. I do not  like those dolls at all - I have 4 young daughters and they are always wanting them, but I refuse.  Surely there are more modest clothes, make-up for these kids to play with!

  2. I thikn those dolls are horrible. They look way too s**y, it's not even s**y, they look trashy and young girls like them, that's the crazy part. I hate them. Society has gone mad.

  3. I agree with you and believe they are contributing to an overall culture of sexualization for young girls.  It's not just the dolls though, it's also all of the merchandising and even the clothes that they market and sell to young girls.

I have a 13 year old niece who lives with me and I simply cannot find tasteful shorts for summer time that are not too short.  A pair she tried on at the store had less than an inch of fabric for an inseam.  For those of you who don't sew, that means that there was less than an inch of fabric between her legs.  The shorts were so short that part of her butt was showing.  Obviously she did not get those shorts but ost of the clothes marketed to a girl her age were inappropriate and overly sexual.

Our culture does pressure young Women to become sexual at an earlier and earlier age and the clothes and toys go along way with that as well.

  4. I have an ex-girlfriend who used to call bratz toys

    "prosti-tots"

Theres no way on Earth I would ever get these toys for a child

  5. LMAO, Well I do have a 5 yr old daughter and she is the biggest Bratz fan and her whole room is Bratz from bed comforter to toys, scooter and even TV and wall decor, BUT I only buy the decent ones, some are far too sexualised for children, but some outfits are alright, like the ones wearing  long evening gowns I just a few different ones on Christmas Layby for her, But I refuse to buy any that have short skirts or tiny lil tops etc, they must be dressed suitable, and she loves the movies (she has nearly every DVD I think) but purely for the singing and dancing and looking pretty, she loves makeup and heck as long as her attitude is appropriate for her age with the proper parental supervision The Bratz Dolls are no more over the top then My Little Pony, it just depends on the message it sends the kids in what they get and what the parents let them get away with, The toy companies will do anything to make a buck and if it means sexually glamourising dolls they'll do it, it's up to us parents to enforce life's real lessons not dolls. My daughter is Teacher's pet and is very appropriate for her age and very considerate, the bratz dolls has no influence on her behaviour, if it did I would soon stop it.

And heck I even like them more the Barbie, at least Bratz have real curves unlike Barbie's perfect figure lol and Bratz  have knickers painted on the plastic bodies. so the doll is never totally naked. lol. Surely that counts for something

  6. Yes they do promote a sexual look.

It scared me that my kids were invited to a Bratz birthday party for a 4 year old. The party decorations were hideous----it was like being at a recruiting session for streetwalkers rather than a young child's party.

The only thing that scared me more were the shorts worn by one little girl---they said "JUICY" across her butt.

  7. I would never buy my daughter one of those dolls. You're not alone. I think they promote that you should be totally fake and made over to be "in." Totally against them. They look so silly.

  8. LOL We were just a target and I saw some Bratz dolls. I think they are ridiculous. They look like hood-rats in training. I will never by my daughter that junk.

  9. Those dolls make me so grateful that I have sons and don't ever have to go down that aisle in the toy store.

  10. yes, my daughters would never have anything like that.

    it's ridiculous!
