  1. Just like any business there are some people that are less than reputable.  I have been involved in horse racing in the US for over thirty years and I can assure you that most owners and trainers are honest hard working people.  Horse racing is a very difficult business and most fans don't really understand the amount of things that can go wrong in a two minute race. Horse racing needs some reforms but the majority of owners and trainers are good people. I have raced horses in thousands of races and can count on three fingers the times that I suspected something was not right.  If I would have had any real evidence of wrongdoing I WOULD HAVE REPORTED IT. I'm trusted in the business and I would have heard something. There are many reasons for a race to look a little suspect.  Most fans just want to lay blame and blaming crooks is a easy excuse.  Don't get me wrong race fixing has happened and will happen again but it just isn't a common occurrence like many fans think.

  2. NO!!  Without them there is no horse racing. Maybe they know a bit more about what is going on because that is their lively hood (trainers). It's their job. Just like you or any one else.. If ya spend 60 hours a week with something.. Ur going to know a bit more about it that someone who doesn't

  3. depends on if your talking about harness racing or the flats

  4. Not the owners and trainers who have runners in pattern races such as Group and Listed contests. If you fancy having a bet on the seller at Catterick then I ain't sure they're all trying!

  5. There are crooks in horse racing, just like there are crooks in any other business.  And there are certainly owners and trainers who play their cards close to the vest, but that's gamesmanship, not cheating.  People who say racing is crooked, nine out of ten of them would do a lot better to learn how to read the racing form a bit better instead of complaining about their imaginary problems.

  6. dude you cant just tar every one with the same brush!

like with anything you will always have a small minority who doesnt play the game fairly, what ever that may be!
