Are the dining rooms open on Carnival Cruise Embarkation Day?

We are sailing from San Juan on the Carnival Destiny in August. I was wondering if we should plan to eat before we embark or if the dining room and buffets will be open the first night before we sail. Thanks for any input!

  1. As the others have said the buffets are open when you board the ship but don't foget that it could take hours before you can on board.  You just never know how long it can take so I would get there early but be prepared to wait.  Our shortest time has been 45 min.

  2. The buffet on the Lido deck is open as long as you can get on the boat. Occasionally some of the smaller resturants (pizza, deli, chineese) are open early too. You will have food available when you get on.Have fun

  3. Don't board with a full stomach. The Lido deck dining rooms are open all day on embarkation day. Be sure to save some room for dinner in the formal dining room.

    Bon Voyage!!!

  4. Yes there will be a humongous buffet on the deck the day of embarkation with endless food then and throughout the cruise!!

    Have a wonderful cruise!!

  5. the dining rooms will be open for dinner, but not before.

if you want food when you first board, you will need to go to whatever buffet-type restaraunt is on the ship. They will have food for hungry cruisers.
