  1. selenium deficiency is pretty unusual in normal healthy people. unless a real doctor suspects a deficency or think you are at risk for a deficiency and need to supplment, chances are youre fine. most people get plenty in their diet, and most mutlivitamins supplement it as well. probably no need to take extra.


  2. Hopefully such a deficiency can be corrected with supplements.

    If you consume 2 Brazil nuts every day you are getting 200 mcg of selenium every day.  Most health authorities recommend no more than 100 mcg per day .  The toxic dose is generally regarded as being 300 mcg per day.
