  1. God Save the Queen - it's the anthem for Great Britain and England is part of that!

  2. United we stand, divided we fall, sorry my love, but i have other fish to fry.

  3. There is no "official" English anthem, so basically "God save the Queen" gets played by default. . We dont need one a tune, we are quitely confident and secure in our own nationhood and history, not a bunch of whining provincial unemployed miners and sheep-scarers who need a song in their own absurd dying language to feel a sense of self-worth, or a bunch of hairy drunken caber-tossers who sing about the only battle they've ever won around 300 years ago..

Personally, if we have to have one, I quite like "Jerusalem" for England, its very rousing and optimistic.

  4. England / British Anthen same,  but Wales / Scotland / Ireland have there own Anthems

  5. Yes the English national anthem is the British national anthem. I am Scottish and we have our own anthem.

  6. Yes they are the same.

I'd love you to explain why it is absurd. I don't get your thinking.

  7. OMG I TOTALLY AGREE! I AM WELSH AND I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE UP A TOTALLY NEW ONE FOR THE UK.

DID YOU SEE THE WELSH GRAND SLAM THIS SPRING!! WOOP WOOP, CYMRU AM BYTH!!

  8. yep god save the queen

  9. Well...yes, sort of but Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have their own national anthems.

  10. At Scottish rugby games "Flower Of Scotland " is sang, and if we are playing England then "God Save The Queen" is also sang

  11. They have tried  a number of alternatives to the dreadful dirge that masquerades as a British National Anthem but always seem to come back to square one . Seem to remember that they gave Land of Hope and Glory an Elgarian blast which lasted all of two minutes ! Does not help the players .

  12. God Save The Queen is the British national anthem.

There is no English national anthem, there is also no Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish national anthem.

  13. They are the same, but I'll cheer you up with this link :0)

  14. Course they are.God save the queen.

  15. depends what you mean british is briten whhich is a country on the other hand english is a language speaken by the britsh

  16. Well considering the queen is the queen of England, Scotland and Wales a.k.a. Britain, it kind of fits doesn't it? And yes we know Wales have a national anthem we don't need telling.

  17. When henry tudor (welshman) invaded and subjugated England at the battle of bosworth field..he did away with england completely. You are basically a larger wales and not actually a nation. So as the masters of the English -  It is quite right that wales should have a anthem and england doesn't.

  18. I agree, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland each have their own....England should too. What it would be, I've no idea, that would be up to them..."Land of Hope and Glory", "Swing Low Sweet Chariot", "Jerusalem" have all been suggested.

  19. yes... god save the queen is the national anthem for the united kingdom, regardless of what Scotland, Wales and Ireland have as their anthem.
