Are the eyes the windows of the soul?

I can't find to much information as to why so many people keep saying the eyes are the window to the soul.. When the real window to a person soul is what lie's in one's heart...........

And I don't care how blank a person's eyes are for as long as that person heart beat the soul remains in that body............ So when the heart stops that person soul leaves that body.... So the heart is the only true window to everyone soul............

Eyes are indeed the window to the Soul! And, the blind?  No matter if they are blind, their souls they were born with, and the soul will leave with them when they die...as with everyone.  One of my dearest friends is blind, and she sees more than most that are able to see.  Her soul is indeed very good to.

well you can often see what a person truly feels every once in a while through there eyes so if a person is blind i do not believe it is because they have no soul (if that was the case we would run them over more often) it may just be that there soul does not want to be seen. I don't know if that is because it is truly evil or if it is so good we are not worthy to see it but i do belive that everyone has a soul that they can spoil taint or grace wether they want to or not.

of course not! the expression means that the eyes are were the truth lies, where you see the person for who they really are. in other words, there purist form, the soul. of course there are also those rituals with the eyes and there have been instances where the soul was actually connected the eyes- but thats not important.
