on a regular day, no. cooking rice for brekky takes 30 - 45 minutes, old style or with the rice cooker, it doesn't matter. and while waiting for it to be cooked, they start with the viand,whether meat,veggie or fish, an hour would do.

but during special occasions, even on a Sunday, they would consume 2-3 hrs. that includes the preparation,cooking and serving.
