I am feeding koi fish for a neighbor. He has been out of town and is returning tomorrow. The filter is not working and I don't have a clue what to do. Will the fish be okay until tomorrow when he returns? It was working yesterday morning, so sometime between 11 a.m. friday and 11 a.m Saturday it stopped working.

  1. they should be fine. (:   just tell them that it stopped working. (:

  2. If his fishes is somehow cared for topclass, some will die very soon bcos these topclass first is like spoiled brats.a slight change they die maybe all will die too if no aeration or poor aeration. These type is soft betsy fish, try add a pinch of salt into the water if the aeration still working.

  3. they need some kind of aireation in the pond immediatley. without something circulating the water, the koi will die. the guy will not be happy to hear that his koi died while he was gone, reguardless if it ur fault or not. koi not only can they be expensive, but very time consuming.

if u can keep them alive by gettting an air pump, or some how get the filter, the guy will be greatly appreciative to keep them alive. i know i would. good luck

  4. yes , but if it is more than one fish the could hold just like 22 hours

  5. no filter will be okay if the pond is not overstock,  Just don't feed them so the water quality will not get bad.  If he got an aerator just use it.  It is only one day it will be alright.

  6. Yes, the fish will be okay. Some people don't even have a filter and they clean out their bowl once a month by hand. No worries, your neighbor's koi will definitely be okay for a day or two without the filter =]
