  1. Not if you call the "France" people. It's French, lol. Most of my friends from over there are friendly, but are very blunt.

  2. friendly if you speak french and even more friendly if you are an attractive person :)

  3. We will treat you the way you treat us my dear....We not rude or else we are just less false...

  4. I would check out www.couchsurfing.com. It's a network of people who are willing to let others stay in their homes for free while they are traveling. Even if you stay in a hotel, you can meet someone on the website who will meet you for lunch or who will be happy to show you around. Regardless of whether the French are friendly (and they were when I was there), I guarantee that all couch surfers are friendly!

  5. How would you respond if someone were to say, "Are the United States people friendly, because I need a friend when I come in August, to show me around? .....I heard that they are mean to the French and they don't speak French."?

Is this how you always introduce yourself?

In answer to your question, yes the French are very friendly, particularly when outsiders make an effort to speak their language.  English speakers are notorious the world around for thinking everybody else in the world should speak English to accommodate them.  Most English first language speakers only speak one language, yet they have the audacity to be condescending of people who don't speak "good English" or (horrors!) no English at all.

You should consider getting a French phrase book asap!
