  1. The flowers and stalk of various species are edible. They are good in salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing.them  They can be used in stews. The stalks are rich in sugar. The seed pods or large pulpy fruits are edible raw, roasted, mashed, or cooked, sliced, and dried for storage. The fruit is knocked off the plant with long sticks it will not fall easily until it is ripe enough to eat.  Yucca roots are edible roasted.

  2. Bobby Lee Mireles.

    DO NOT EAT THAT PLANT.

I don't care what they say.

As your big sister I say no eating wild plants.

  3. To people, no-- to a specific moth, yes.  Google one particular yucca, (they are members of the lily family) Joshua Tree + symbiotic moth for some interesting discussions on parallel evolution.... each need the other to survive, and only each other.  fun stuff.

  4. I have always heard they are edible, and Wikipedia confirms that most parts of the plant have been listed as edible, but there isn't all that much in the literature about it.

Also, the "Yuca Root" you see in asian markets is not Yucca, but Cassava.

It's probably fine to eat some, but don't stuff yourself.
