  1. Nah.  The market will correct itself sooner or later.

  2. yes i do its horrible !!!!

  3. Yes. I drive over 500 miles a week to attend school at around $22 per round trip. Around $66 per week. Whomever is responsible for these prices is interfering with my education and well-being, and whatever God they pray to bless their soul if I ever meet them.

  4. I hope they continue going up! Get off your Gass and Ride (a bike that is)

  5. Nope.

America is finally being forced to re-prioritize and realize how unnecessary some of the c**p they have and do is. I drive less, own a car with great mileage, and pay attention to the brands of gas I use. Certain brands get better mileage on my car than others.

Unless you're someone who cannot be bothered with properly managing your finances and driving habits, there's no reason to complain. It could be a h**l of a lot worse.

  6. no but i agree with you gas is too much money

  7. No.  High gas prices will encourage people to use less fuel, reducing our dependence on foreign oil.  It will also bring more economical alternatives into the market.  In 10 years or 20 years, when the oil is all but gone, people will kill for $4 gasoline.  Literally.  Stop whining and either pay up or do something about it, by reducing your own consumption of gasoline and thereby lowering the impact of the high prices on your own wallet.  Gas prices are high because people will pay that much.

  8. Sorry no.

I live in NYC.  We mostly ride the train.  I just measured my  gas usage. Sine June 8, I only used 23 gallons.

That is why USA need to move to alternate fuel source - not more oil wells.

    Good luck...

  9. Yes,but its actually gone down about 50 cents in the past month here in Ohio.

  10. I think it's better to deal with it than feel bad.  Better to make yourself feel good by taking action.

I just bought a bicycle today, from Hope, for $25.  It will be my commuter bike after I fix it up.  I feel blessed in that we live close enough to my workplace for me to do that.  Not everyone can.

  11. Not directly ( as I live close enough to my work I can bicycle if I wish ).  Indirectly though, it is becoming noticeable ( food prices, for example, are rising as well to cover the transportations costs ).

  12. Yes it's depressing. But what's more depressing is this isn't the first time it's happened. First Arab oil embargo was in 1973. To punish the United States and the West for backing Israel during the 1967 war many Arab nations refused to sell us any oil, OPEC suddenly became a household word.

Not only did gas prices double but there were LONG lines at the pump. What did our government come up with to help with the situation??? Odd and even days. If your vehicle license number ended with an even number you could only buy gas on an even numbered calender day. If it ended in an odd number you could only purchase gas on an odd numbered day. All it accomplished was you had a surge in the theft of license plates.

There was another disruption in 1979 when the Iranian people overthrew the Shah of Iran, stormed the American embassy in Tehran and took the entire staff hostage. Prices went from about 65 cents a gallon to 1.30 almost overnight. First time in American history the price of gasoline went over a dollar a gallon. Guess what??? Jimmy Carter's solution... reinstating odd and even days again.

Then as now people whined and moaned while our elected officials provided nothing but lip service. OK seeing as this isn't anything new why haven't we done anything about it? We haven't built any new refineries since 1974, haven't explored for any new sources of oil since the Carter Administration.

  13. No! I pay 85 cents a gallon for my car's fuel, which is natural gas (methane). I got tired of paying for gasoline when it hit $3.00 last year and bought 2 cars that don't use it at all. It's also cleaner and domestically produced, so it's great all around. Wish everyone had one...
