Are the home schools, such as Stratford, worth it or legit?

If anyone has tried these types of home study schools please tell me if it is worth it or legit. Thanks.

You have to find out if the school is accredited.  This means some gov't. agency, like the state board of education, has approved them to grant diplomas.  Without accreditation, a diploma is just a fancy piece of paper!  A reputible school will have you take courses and pass tests, just like a regular school.  And they will come right out and tell you they are accredited.  Here is a site that may help you.

You're not being very clear.  I found a Stratford private school system with 20 campuses in California and a Stratford Christian school with campuses, but not a single homeschool named Stratford.

Most homeschool systems tend to work.  

Accreditation is not always an answer, especially from that Londistance Education which also accredits University of Phoenix which everyone doesn't think highly of.

Penn Foster is one of the few programs with brick school accrediation through the Middle States Secondary association and Penn Foster College is accredited by the state of Arizona to grant a BS degree.

Penn Foster college is a true college as compared to DeVry, ITT tech and U Phoenix, because they require Math 101, Calculus, History, English 101, which is why they are accredited by Arizona.

Of course Penn Fosters been offering homeschool Caculus for over 60 years.

Penn Foster is also DETC accredited.  Just about every trade school including John Robert Powers modeling schools have DETC accredation or some similar Federally Recognized accrediation (which qualifies applicants for student loans).

ANd Powers is considered a rip off by many users, even though they actually teach something.

(They promise the moon and make you think you'll get on Disney Channel after you pay them $16,000 for acting lessons.)
