  1. They're what science terms "variations". This is seen in, say, the same species of dog with a different coloured coat than another. I guess the term "sub-species" could be applied, but I feel variation is more specific.

  3. No, in fact, 'race' only makes up a small percentage of human variation. You probably have more in common biologically with people of another 'race' than you do with many people of your own 'race'.

    Humans are too much alike to be sub species (races?). There are a great many more differences WITHIN a population that is categorized as a 'race' than BETWEEN populations of people categorized as races.

    Racial (sub species?) categories are human inventions. Culture groups decide what differences to use as categories for races. Those categories change from culture group to culture group. Skin color, for example, is a category that means very little in terms of measuring human differences. Most of our group-based differences come from what we LEARN from our culture groups rather than from biology. There is no such thing as race or human sub species.
