I'm a Bush supporter, so I'm not bashing indiscriminantly.

It's simply a question.

  1. Yes

  2. ABSOLUTELY!!!!

We did not defeat the Soviet Union by backing down. We beat them by staring evil in the face and letting them know we would not back down.

Why would that be a remedy for these resurging thugs.

We cannot allow tyrants to rule the world again; not ever!

  3. Yes.  Personally, I believe we can longer think in terms of "if" with Iran and it's nuclear program . . . we must transition to "When" and this is a very proactive step.  It may buy us a few more years of security . . . which is always worth the trouble.

  4. They render the threat of nuclear attacks useless. It is actually the best idea ever known to man and should be made available to everyone on earth.

  5. No. Most Poles don't want missile shields on their soil. It only exposes them to danger. With today's volatile world, imagine if a US-Russia military confrontation is triggered by an event in a far-away land (in Asia, for example). Poland will be greatly affected by it, no matter how far it is from them. Only the Polish government leadership agreed to have those missile shields, obviously for monetary reasons.

But for the US, of course that is advantageous. They can detect Russian missiles very early if those missiles are destined to hit the US soil.

  6. The missile system is completely unproven and the price is outrageous. Do we really need to protect Poland? Russia supplies most of the natural gas to Europe, they don't want a war. They do want to prove themselves to their increasingly nationalistic citizenry. We need to take out Putin, not Russia.

  7. Yes, very much so.  Poland is making great strides since they've separated from Russia.   Even Dell Inc. has built a plant there.  Russia is going to get a lot of push back on this one.

  8. Actually considering the actions taken by Russia against Georgia I think they are more important then ever; this is not an offensive system at all but a defensive one.  The Russians under nationalist leaders are looking to return Russia to the glory of theold days and the means Russia has always done that is through military power and not political, trade or technical leadership.  I believe the Russians leadership is more dangerous now then under the communist because the communist believed they would win with politcal [ower and the system would prevail but nationalist are interested in Russia winning so have to depend on military expansion an coercion more.  If the US and Poland, or other former satelites countries, give in to Russia they will just continue to expland through threats or military action.  The defensive systems are not only worth the trouble but are even more necessary now.
