Question:

Are the iron heads bigger on Callaway X-18s or X-20s? Also which sole is wider?

I'm looking to purchase new irons and I'm torn between these two models. I've demoed them both and can't really seem to find a difference in feel or results. I hear the X-20's are more forgiving and have a lower center of gravity but not by much. Right now my deciding factor is price and obviously the X-18s are older and much cheaper but I don't want to make my decision based on that factor alone. I can't find a bad review of either online except the fact that some people don't like the size of the heads and the width of the soles(base). Does anyone know which head is bigger and which sole is wider cause I know they can have an affect on game play especially out of the rough. I can't seem to find the dimensions anywhere online. Any thoughts?

  1. if you cant find a difference between them there probably isn't a big difference in size or sole.  And if there is a difference you don't notice and in that case it doesn't matter.  Buy the X-18's there cheaper.  Iron technology hasn't changed in the past 10 years you are better off buying an older brand name set.

  2. I believe the X20s have a slightly larger head and sole width.  If you have hit them both and there isn't much difference, save the dough and get the X-18s they are very good.
