Are the laws different for Mascara Ads...

In America beacuse i was reading TEEN VOGUE and i saw a maybelline mascara ad and it didnt say model is wearing lash extensions or anything but in U.k ads it always says that some where on the advert? im confused thanks

  1. I don't think they would honestly care. There is no truth in advertising anymore. Besides not even extensions look that good, everyone image is photoshopped or drenched in light. There probably are laws, like fine print, but they're trying to sell, they'll find some way around it

  2. No, it's not a law for the companies to divulge that information in the U.S. And unfortunately they don't need to tell us when they photoshop-lengthen the lashes either.  

  3. i think it's a law over here in the UK for adverts to say that but it might not be in america

  4. I guess they think we're to stupid to notice that all the models are wearing false eyelashes in those adds. Maybe we should start complaining. Truth in advertising seems to have gone by the wayside.

It would depend, if a claim was made that the mascara lengthens lashes then proof would have to be offered that such a claim is true.  If no claims are made and the only intent of the ad is to sell mascara then it is only necessary that the model wear the mascara being sold, lash extensions would be considered to the a normal part of women's makeup and it would not be necessary to mention them.
