Are the leaves of French beans edible?

I am thinning my bean seedlings and wonder if they can be eaten either cooked or raw.

  1. Phaseolus vulgaris

    Yes the leaves are edible and are used as a salad vegitable at times.


  2. Very much edible.

    Have eaten them myself years ago when I traveled in Europe.  Not to commonly eaten in the United States - but they also don't eat dandelions either in the United States either while they do in other places.
