By playing the maratha card, haven't these people allienated the Marathis from the national mainstream even further? Marathis have to blame themselves for helping these kind of leaderships to grow and gain unnecessary political milage.

In the present age of globalization, we need to think with broadminds and not with parochial and narrow minded visions. Thes people are not accountable to any body as they don't contest elections even! They are grinding their own axe, with no concern for the marathi manoos actually. We the common men get exposed to the dangers on the road, while these goons live in the shelter of their castles. Better late than never, should the marathi manoos not discard these lawless elements, and win back the glory which was to them before these elements became active some 4 decades ago?

And ain't the sanity lie in living with all others, by maintaining cordial relations with them? Pls ponder over this before you say again that you are proud of being an Indian!

  1. d**n curse on these terrorists and antinationals.  If they are not willing to live with north Indians, then how they will interact with our nationalism?  They are not willing to allow any non-Marathas.  Is it not cessesionism?  They will eat the grass one day.

  2. I do not know if you, the learned counsel, is a Marathi or not. Much of our views are shaped by the group to which we belong. If you are a Marathi and yet voice your anti-Marathi views, I salute. Notwithstanding what we are, we need to look at the issue objectively. Yes. I agree that the whole episode has shown Marathi manoos in a poor light. If the marthis are an enlightened lot, they must rise up and voice their opinion against the leaders whipping the regional passion for their own narrow political gains. No national leader wants to express any opinion either way in this regard, for fear of being branded as pro this or pro that. I am yet to see some statesman among the crowd of politicians either at the State level or National level.

  3. yes they are partially responsible.even marathi manoos they are not focused, they are jealous on others prosperity, that leads to their downfall.they just want reasons to pick up fight.they should also prove that they are also capable of something.they were the people who wanted to drive away all southindians and gujrathis,if they do so bombay will be a place where u will get only cutting chai

  4. When Maharashtrians vote and support sub-nationalism they become accomplices! You better watch out when you travel outside Maharashtra if you are Marathi. In a mob case marathi pride is not gonna help you! People from the North also have "pride" but they get beaten up by a mob in Maharashtra! In a mob case you don't know who's hitting you! Marathis will get their dues for being sub-nationalists! Innocents will get beaten up on both sides and the people in power will break bread together when it suits them!

  5. Only fascist local politicians are responsible. Rest Marathis are as good as  Hindi speaking north Indians.

  6. Even i'm a proud maharashtrian.  But i do agree with your viewpoint. The recent mayhems in Mumbai have menaced the unity of the city. Its the political system of india that is retarding the nation's growth and needs to be revamped. Political powers have being toying with local people's emotions and integrity just to win the favour of certain section of the society. Its really disheartening to know that the peoply who actually are meant to safeguard the national interests are the ones voilating it. This must stop at some point.

The tirade delivered by Raj Thackeray against North Indians are his personal views and not that of the Marathi manoos.  So please don't be against the marathi populace. There will be lot of misunderstandings and i'm fully aware of that. Respect Marathi heritage and let us all unite in our efforts to bring harmony in Mumbai.

(If possile please do try to learn marathi language! I mean its the duty of every individual to respect the culture and heritage of the place where he/she is residing. That would not offend the local sentiments.)

  7. We cant sa aleined ha but wht voilence happend should have happened rather the struggle should be projected in a sense of peaceful marches and speeches , bcoz at any reaosn marathi ppl in the city are suffering a lot so there was a requiremnt of the strugle to be started , also not only marathi ppl but all who are in mumbai from past so many yeare (by govt till 2000) are all suffering bcoz of the influx  that is happening daily ,,, ppl are facing heavy traffic jams , water problem electricilty problem everything so it not the the marathi manus is only be the benficiary over here .....

  8. Mumbai's lifestyle and growth is irrespective of who is ruling the state. Politician have no role in the ups and downs of Mumbai.

Marati manoos never want to migrate for employment due to Mumbai. They expect everybody to follow the same. Inspite of all these things Mumbai is feeding the millions pouring in every year. People from outside states feel so secure and homely that they started claiming ownership of Mumbai becuse of the majority.

  9. Such fanatic leaders are always an aberration on the civilized society. But they shall perish fruitlessly, although these people do more harm to the society and people whom they claim to be guardians of. Goondaism is rampant in Indian politics today and Goondas go around in the garb of political leaders everywhere, this sorry state of affairs has to be brought to an end to soon by joint efforts of common Indians.
