  1. They have English,Scottish,German,Danish and Russian ancestry.

German ancestry is through Queen Victoria,Prince Consort Albert, and Queen Mary(who was born in England). The Danish ancestry is through Queen Alexandra and Philip, who also claims Russian blood.

Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother was a proud Scotswoman.

Elizabeth II can claim English ancestry through Egbert,King of Wessex and England.

And Philip has no Greek blood. His Danish Royal House took the reign of Greece by chance.Queen Alexandra's brother,Willi, was approached by Lords Palmerston and Russell and asked if he'd like to be King of Greece.Willi thought it was a joke and said yes. Willi was nominated for the job and his consent was made known. No other royal family wanted the job!

Addendum: I see that too many people don't read.Philip IS NOT Greek. The explanation is above!

  2. The last English king of England was killed at Hastings - 942 years ago.

Since then the throne has been occupied by foreign dynasties.

Most of todays native English population have a better blood claim to the throne than our current Queen and her repulsive brood.

  3. Prince Philip is Greek (and Danish), the Queen's mother was Scottish, whilst her grandmother (Queen Mary) was technically German she was born and brought up in Britain. Queen Alexandra the Queen's great-grandmother was Danish and Prince Albert was German. Prince Charles was the first heir to the throne to marry an English woman for generations and also the first to marry a commoner (despite her title Lady Diana Spencer was a commoner as the title was just a courtesy).

  4. If a person is born in a country, they are fully that nationality.

VERY few people from anywhere can claim to have full ancestry from their nationality.  Everyone has had invaders, merchants, travellers, resettlers in their ancestry.

Have you ever read a history book or taken a class in history?  Watched anything on the History Channel?  Listened in class?  Do you understand that Royalty had to marry Royalty for about 1500 years, in order to "keep the blood pure"?  In order to do that, and read very slowly, here, to make sure you get this:  Royalty from one country HAD to marry royalty from another.  This means that the Royals of England HAD to marry royals from other countries.  Of course they have international ancestors!!!!!

I'm sure you have, as well!  (unless you are an Australian aborigine or something like that.)

  5. yes, they have ancestors from other countries.  it is normal for members of the royal family to intermarry with other royal families.  There has never been a 'fully english' king or queen in the sense of having no foreign blood.   Considering the number of times Britain was conquered in the past, and the number of waves of immigrants there have been over the years, I should think that there are few people in this country who haven't got 'foreign blood' in them somewhere.

  6. Prince Phillip is Greek and the Queen is half German.

  7. Oh no, you will always find some foreign ansestor! Royals don't always marry their cousins you know! They marry royals from foreign countries. It was a often to ratify certain peace treaties or something of the sort...

  8. Largely German, but then that is the standard for the English.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The heck is wromg with you thumb-boy? Reality check : The English monarchy is heavily intermarried and descended from the German monarchy.

A large portion of english ancestry is celtic (Keltoi), AKA German.

Don't like the facts? Tough luck. The English are in a very large way German descendant.

  9. no the only ones in the main royal family that have any english blood in them at all are william and harry who are half english

  10. No they are not Prince Phillip has Greek connections. If you look back in history our Royal family often married Royals from other European countries.

  11. very few ppl in england can claim to be "fully english" as you put it. the only true brits were pushed into wales during the roman invasion so only a few welsh ppl are "fully english" meaning their ancestors were the original ppl of britain. same goes for here in the US the only "full americans" are the native americans. and even they came from asia.

  12. I'm fairly certain that the 80 descendents of George V (who established the Windsor family) were all born in the United Kingdom. Most of them have also lived there all of their lives. ------------------------------------

I am including legitimated children who were openly acknowledged by their parents.

  13. Nah. They're German, Scottish, Dutch, Norwegian, Greek, Russian, bit English and pretty much every other monarchy in Europe! The current HM QEII's male bloodline came over from Hanover (Germany). The first Hanoverian (George I of England, I think was his name) had trouble learning English & missed Hanover so bad that he wanted to go back. He was comically surly, and newspapers and other publications often made fun of him affectionately.

Prince Phillip was born as a Prince of Greek and Denmark, though he had Danish blood, not Greek blood, and in order to marry the crown princess, had to declaim his Greek and Danish titles. His parents were the monarchs of Greece, before they were all exiled.

  14. most of the Royal family, with the exception of the Princess Michael of Kent and the Duke of Edinburgh, are native-born. Their ancestry, like ALL English families,  is a rich tapestry of bloodlines from many countries.  The Original English ("FIRST ENGLISH"?  or "NATIVE ENGLISH"?) disappeared millennia ago, their DNA now part of the complicated mixture called  English-people..  And don't pick on the Picts -- they became extinct in the tenth century, but not before adding a wee bit o' spice to every Geordie's genome.

  15. It depends on how far back you go.   England... Anglo-land, this group along with the Saxons, were both German tribes.  What is left of the true Welsh blood are all that are left of the pre-Anglo-Saxon British people in England.   The TRUE Scotts to the north are also British IF you consider Ireland as British.  They Came over from Ireland and mixes with the Picts (or destroyed them depending on whose history you read).  Every so often, the British Royal family takes another "non-English" spouse also.  Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip are two couples where the Queen's Husband was not "British".

At one point, to get rid of the Catholic King James, they even imported someone from Holland!

  16. If "English" means "born in England", the answer is "yes" with the exception of Prince Philip, the Duke of Windsor, who renounced his title as a Greek Prince (in exile) before he married Princess Elizabeth in 1947.

If you mean of "English descent", then the answer is, "no".  The English throne since the early 18th century has been held by descendants of Sophia, the Electress of Hanover: The Georges, Queen Victoria, and everyone until the current sovereign, Elizabeth II, descended from this German line of kings and queens.  Elizabeth II's father, George VI, however, broke the chain when he married Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons, the daughter of a Scottish Earl.

Princes William and Harry have more English ancestors (thorough their mother) than the British Royal family has had in centuries, and so do the rest of their cousins.  Lady Diana Spencer and  Sarah Ferguson both claimed descent from the House of Stuart (of Scotland) as descendants of mistresses of Charles II, and the Spencers, of course, have been a prominent English family since the Middle Ages.  Sophia Rhys Jones can also claim English ancestry. The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, can also claim descent from Charles II (which is apparently not too uncommon a feat in aristocratic circles since he admitted to siring 12 illegitimate children).   The Queen Mum  (as stated earlier) was of Scottish and English (through her mother) descent.

Bottomline: The Hanovers were German, the Stuarts Scots, the Tudors Welch, and earlier kings Norman French, so one has to go back to 1066 to see an "Anglo-Saxon" King on the English throne.

  17. Which Royal Family?

  18. Most members of the British royal family actually have German and other ancestry.  Prince Philip is actually Greek!

  19. NO as there is German Greek and Russian blood in the decendant, that I know of and there is also French Blood.

  20. why yes they r
