  1. Around So. Ca you have to really watch out for them at dusk when the weather cools and the ground cools they can regulate their temps better because they are cold blooded. All reptiles are cold blooded so many have this same evening/night time routine.


  2. most snakes outside of the tropics are active during the day because of their inability to regulate their body temperature.

  3. the first come out and sun themselves to warm up, them if hungry go and look for a meal.  

    they need to be warmed by outside things so unless it is a warm night they are active in the daytime
