I've heard that they are dangerous to use, and the reports I've read say that they are hazardous. I know they are supposed to save energy but is it worth the risk?

  1. They are very safe to use. I use them all the time. As for the mercury, since when? Same goes for getting them wet. Only time you shouldn't get them wet is when you go to s***w them into the light socket. If you don't do that, especially while standing in water, then you're fine.

  2. Ahem. Trust it the local news to make the most mundane things sound as risky as juggling tire irons on a broken escalator wile pouring maple syrup all over yourself. Anyway, they do contain mercury, but it's not a terrible amount. There's an urband legend about the EPA requiring a hazmat over it, but in truth you can just sweep up the glass if you drop them. Just be careful, because mercury is pretty ugly.

  3. NO THEY R NOT DANGERUS TO USE JUST DONT GET IT WET ITS ALL OK
