yes and no

smooth V6 engine but gets poor mpg

the handling is good but the ride is stiff

it has second an 3rd row seats but they are tight

6,000 lbs towing capacity

side curtain air bags are optional $

reliability is average

so it's got some good things but they have better vehicles

The new 2008 Pathfinder are great mid-sized SUV. Also rated one of the safest SUV with 5-star side and 4-star frontal. I have a 2007 Pathfinder (same as an ‘08) and it has a very easy access to the third row seats which also folds flat. Try to buy the SE or LE model because that comes with everything you need and want. The 4.0L V6 has plenty of power and I get an average of 18 mpg. (The V8 option is a waste of money and mpg) The only complaint I have with my 2007 Pathfinder is that the tailgate feels a bit heavy, but Nissan redesign that for 2008.

The Toyota 4Runner is also another good chose but I find it to have too much plastic on the exterior and the third row seats has a big gap in the middle and doesn't fold flat.
