  1. Whenever there is a level 2 or 3 hurricane in the Gulf, oil platforms are evacuated. Gustav is going to be a 3 minimum, possibly a 4. They will get your boyfriend back on shore in time for him to be safe.

  2. Yes most of them are, maybe the're celebrating somewhere.

  3. My husband works offshore in the gulf and he came home today.I'm sure they will send your boyfriend home tomorrow. Good luck.

  4. my father-in-law is coming home today. keep calling and don't give up.

  5. not yet. it would probably be too costly to shut them down this early. the storm is at least 2 days from impacting the gulf

  6. You probably haven't been able to get in touch with him because oil companies started evacuating rigs in the gulf a couple of days ago.  I wouldn't worry about him--I'm sure they have their guys holed up someplace safe by now or at least on their way to one.

You can see the projected path of the storm, and find links to local TV and newspaper coverage, live streaming webcams in the affected areas, preparation guides, plus links to the National Hurricane Center coverage of the storm on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  7. Yeah my brother is on a rig out of the Morgan City area and they sent him home today, so don't worry they are very careful about this, he will be back. They are  probably getting ready to shut down everything and preparing the platform for the storm
