Are the old leather helmets legal to wear out cycling?

Question

I don't know helmet law other than that you have to wear one when you're cycling. Can they be of the old-style padded leather variety or do they have to be certified plastic ones? Don't ask me why I'd want to wear one. I just do.

it probably is not, but there are states where it is not required. i understand why you wanna use it, if you have a vintage bike, it is goofy to wear a big heavy plastic helmet.

I live in Canada and here the answer is no.

Keep in mind that a leather helmet is very usless in a head on crash.

You could try a wrapping the leather helmet around the bike helmet.

I'd clap and wave.
