  1. Yes in a limited way. Young people are still very impressionable and often base their opinions on what a teacher or other person has told them.

It is well known that educators are overwhelmingly liberal with exceptions.

Once youth become adults, go to work, pay taxes, start families etc it's interesting to watch just how fast those youthful views change.

  2. Yes by the school as the school is responsible for their safety , education etc. So if the opinion relates to their everyday life in school they MUST take it seriously.

What goes to wider community,it depends how mature community is , and in what way opinion was delivered.

  3. NO has anything EVER changed due to us?

    No

  4. Of course not, very few remember how smart they were when they were young so wouldn't consider young people 'rounded' enough to have an original thought

  5. Sometimes, but they don't usually change anything until those young people grow up and make those changes themselves.

  6. No---kids in this country are (unfortunately) seen as commodities, nothing more than a tax deduction. If kids were valued in our society, there would be less children born out of wedlock, less drug addicted parents, and stricter laws regarding child abuse, sexual abuse, child pornography and statutory rape.

Most kids aren't taken seriously until they wipe out teachers and students in a storm of gunfire.

  7. Yes and No.

    1. Yes; Adults who haven't the ability to act as responsible adults give kids forums for policy making. Public schools are a prime example. We wouldn't have new math and whole language reading, etc., if it weren't for adults listening to kids.

    2. No; The fact is, kids are too ignorant to make important decisions for themselves. Lack of experience, maturity and self control haven't been developed yet. It will, but not yet. Real adults recognize the guidance these youngsters need and provide it, phonics, algebra, etc.

It makes young people mad to be told they are ignorant, however, time will show them the truth, it always does.

  8. Yes and no.

It's one of those things young people don't get.

If it's a young person that acts, dresses and looks responsible, people will take them seriously.

A young person tha has his or her pants sagging, purple hair, piercings, tattoos, etc will not be taken seriously.

  9. Yes, if they are well thought out, have a basis in fact and science and are stated clearly and concisely.  Very rare.

It helps if the package delivering the opinion is attractive, well mannered, and respectful.

If you don't want to be treated differently, don't appear different.

Often times the respect and consideration you get are based on what you give.

  10. no because they cannot vote yet and they are still minors

  11. I think they are; but, at the same time, we have to take into account that they are the opinions of people with limited experience in the ways of the world.

  12. Being taken seriously has to be earned.
