Are the people in Avatar: The Last Airbender Asian? ?

I never thought they were based on their eyes but people are saying that they are so what is it????

I think all the characters are from different races to be honest. All the 4 nations seem to have a specific type of race that is different so not everyone is asian or white or mexican or whatever, kind of like it is in our world.

Well everything is chinese in their world, but I think that's kinda like how everything is mostly in english in the US. i don't think they're asian.

There from a completly made up world so i dont think they are any specific race, however something like death note you can pick out there race because the locations are based on the real world.
