Question:

Are the people who keeps saying Pacman can't win against DLH, the same ones who said Pacquiao can't beat Diaz

A lot of people says Pacquiao has absolutely no chance against Oscar Dela Hoya because he is much bigger. A few months back, a lot of people also used that argument before Paquiao fought Diaz, saying Pacman is way too small for Diaz and a fighter like that couldn't possibly match up against a bigger fighter with a stronger punch. Well, Pacman devastated Diaz as we all know. And please, those who says that Pacman is less skillful than DLH? where did they get that from?

  1. the fact is that DLH v Pacman is the biggest money fight out there now that Cotto lost a couple weeks back and there is no point in DLH fighting him unless he was undefeated since he's a huge risk

fighters age overnight, so who knows what DLH has left in the tank... with the pride that Pacman has and with his aggresive nature, I think he'd only be a slight underdog against DLH so anything is definitely possible, including a KO either way...

  2. Don't compare Oscar with Dias. Pac will get hurt. read my lips or read my writing.

  3. Diaz is bigger than pacman. But not by much becuase pacman destroyed him.

De la Hoya is jsut to big for pacman....de la hoya has fought a lightheavyweight.....bernard hopkins.....

sure pacman is fast and good punching power but oscar will likely take all his best punches

  4. Richie, seriously, I could not find one person who thought david diaz would or could even beat pacquiao, not one. The outcome of the fight was a forgone conclusion. Top Rank did not even entertain the idea of diaz fighting a tune up for pacquiao since they knew diaz was the sacrificial lamb for any ranked lightweight.

Diaz and Oscar are two waaaayyy different fighters. Don't get caught up in the hoopla and see this for what it is. Size will be an issue, the frame of Oscar will allow obvious advantages. Oscar's jab alone will eat up pacquiao and the overhand right to manny's 5'6" height will become problematic.

  5. I really don't care who wins, I just wanna see the fight. We all rant about Pacquiao being too small or ODLH being too big but at the end of the day, it's a job to both of them. When I say job, I mean, just like you and me, when we apply for a job, the salary is a concern. Same with those guys... it's all about the money.

  6. It depends upon what weight they fight at.

At Light-welterweight or above, De La Hoya's natural size advantage would probably be too much.

  7. Yes, after Manny beat Oscar, people will going hush like what Manny always does.

  8. Oscar fought at 147, 150, 154 and 160. pac man hasn't. He's just too big. If Oscar throws his weight around and roughs him up on the inside. This fight could end early. Remember pacman has been stopped before (twice) at feather weight in the Philippines and Oscar had not been stopped until he went up to middleweight to fight who he thought was an aging Bernard. Granted he quit because of his pride and he was getting out box. Pac-man is doing the same thing thinking he getting an aging DLH only to find that he is just to big and strong. DLH KO after 7.

  9. yes i think so, i for one believe that pac will have a hard time in the lightweight division facing david diaz...interim champ, a top contender, an olympian...he's no scrub i tell you i admit (though some of the guys out there will not admit it) that i have miscalculated the fact that pacman will be comfortable when he moved up and actually beat diaz, whereas the punches are harder and the fighters are tougher. though he still need to clean up lightweights campbell and another diaz named juan...i think he has a chance of beating dela hoya....height, reach, bulkiness, power, speed, whoever dela hoya fought in this and that division, whatever....are not the ISSUE....the real ISSUE if they step in the ring is the WEIGHT...where do they meet? in the welters?, in the superlightweight?, or whichever?. some people has mistaken that boxing is all about reach, height, or power. when all it really is about weight. considering that dela hoya is much powerful, much taller, and much tougher than pacquiao...will he last for 12 rounds if they meet at lightweight? or even superlightweight? he will be dehydrated and will starve during the fight (imagine the discomfort when you are fighting) .definitely both are big draw fighters and will go head to head probably becoz of the money they will get from the match.
