    The other name for the purple coneflower is Echinacea, (pronounced Ek-i-nay-see-a) and its herbaceous perennial plant. I've got Echinacea tablets from my health store which are made from the petal.

    Its actually used to counter the effects of poison ivy and snakebite.

    Its also considered helpful for the common cold, toothache, burns and external sores, sore throat, psoriasis, rheumatism and stomach cramps.

    It has more recently claimed to be a blood purifier, an anti-infection agent (viral and bacterial) and an immune system strengthener.
