  1. WEAR THE HELMET!!!  It may not prevent a concussion but it will lessen it. Just do not get a false sense of security and push beyond your limits. If you are afraid to wear the helmet your parents want you to wear, don't go skiing. No the pistes are not more dangerous. The pistes are the same.

  2. I think you have a fetish for helmets or something.

  3. Only for you.  Your dreadful obsession will mean that you are not paranoid - people really will be out to get you.

  4. I don't think groomed runs are more dangerous with the helmet. I think more people are trying to learn to ski and are not taking lessons. I am a big fan of the helmet as well as full body armor. I like to ski fast and I make mistakes and fall. My doctor once told me, "I can put any body part back together except your brain. If you wear a helmet, it will definitely lesson the severity of a brain injury." I didn't buy a helmet because it would never happen to me. I ended up slamming my head on a green run coming back to my locker room to change and gave myself a concussion. I bought a helmet the next day. I have also had the beginner or intermediate skier hit me and because I have full body armor on, guess who get the better  of that one. Me. Skiing is fun but there is a reason why the companies are making this safety equipment. A good helmet cost $90. A bad brain injuries cost your life. You make the decision.

  5. Are the roads more dangerous with lots of people fastened with seat belts and thinking they can drive out of control?

BTW, helmet is an "easy to forget" cap-like item. You don't ski in a different manner when you wear it. I see quite a "constant rate of idiots" on the slopes through the years, whizzing down uncontrollably (and usually they don't wear it). So, a reason more to put something stiff on your head. Sometimes I think about back protection too.

  6. it depends where you go. During the course of the day, the center run that would take you to the main base will and always has been a little bit like that, regardless of whether people have helmets or not. When you get higher up towards the summit of a mountain, you have to know what you are doing to be up there on the blacks and hard blues, and the kind of people who ski or ride those runs shouldn't be like that at all.

ski helmets are some of the best things that have happenes to modern hill sports, because of the advancments in parabolic technology, more people have been able to try skiing, and this leads to stupid people doing stupid things, so hlemets are the things that will keep people from potentially dieing anywhere on the slopes, and should be regarded as a good thing
