  1. Now a days they want the money, and good luck to them. There are thousands of kids around Australia and the Pacific vying for every NRL spot. Some of them go without or are supported by their families as they strive for their goals. If they make it to the top, then they should be well rewarded.

  2. But it's not even good money.

I don't think people realise that when a players career in rugby league ends they're just going to have to start life all over again if coaching and training aren't an option. It's a risky career choice.

If I was an NRL player, I'd definitely play for the love of the game otherwise I could be off getting a degree in law or something.

  3. I would noy hesitate 2 go play over in uro in a easyier comp 4 3x times as much money

  4. yeah its a shame but can you really blame them? seriously..  going for a paid holiday in europe for a year or two ( they allways come back to the nrl crying anyway ) getting doubble money a easier game we need to fix the contracts were making.. but we shouldnt fkn let them back in the nrl! we should of atleast made jamie lyon back play for souths as punishment

  5. A majority only play for money, like all the qld players who play in NSW and melbourne and vice versa.

If they really wanted to play they would play for peanuts, but we have too many peanuts playing!

I prefer to watch park footy where players play for their team.

  6. it's just like a job. if you get offered more money doing the same thing where are u gonna go. stuff the game all the players want is money

  7. I don't really condem players for going for the money overseas...i cant say that i wouldnt play for three times as much overseas then what i would be getting in Aus but if the money is the only thing that is driving alot of these players overseas the NRL/ARL really need to look at increasing the salary cap or pretty soon we won't have anybody here especially with two new teams coming into the super league.

  8. The players are either driven to overseas by the clubs salary cap or they want to earn more money.
