Question:

Are the pregnancy symptoms for having a girl different than for a boy?

My mother seems to believe that I am having a girl because I am more sensitive to smells than I was when I had my son. I still had morning sickness but this is just terrible.....I have the "metal tongue' and dry mouth...I know every pregnancy is different. Your insight is appreciated.

  1. i got real bad morning sickness with my boys and with this one a girl, i just got a little nauseous!

  2. my old is a girl and i was sicker than a dog with her and my boys i got sick maybe once a month.

  3. I don't know for sure if the symptoms have something to do with the babys s*x. With my daughter I had: morning sickness, really bad heartburns, a better s*x drive (tmi)lol.

With my son I only was very tired and lots of cravings, and I never want to have s*x.lol

  4. No not really.  I had three kids and all were differernt.  Good luck!

  5. In my opinion I'm starting to think that the signs are different but I wont know for sure until I have my baby in December.

With this pregnancy I've had real really bad morning sickness, been sensitive to smells, I can smell almost everything, my acne hasnt flared up, all kinds of cravings and with my last pregnancy I didnt have morning sickness, cravings this bad, my acne flared up and my face got "chubby".

My first born is a girl. I havent found out the s*x of this one but some of my family think I'm having a boy cause all my symptoms are different form the last time.

  6. hehe just to throw a spanner in, I had all the symptoms you're having now with my son - the supersensitive sense of smell, metallic taste constantly... all that stuff.

Guess the real answer is that every pregnancy is going to be different for every person, regardless of the s*x of their baby.

There is a *lot* of folklore out there, but any two sources seem to contradict each other. One will say a fast fetal heartbeat means a boy, others will say it means a girl.

I like guessing, but I LOVE the surprise (deliberately didn't find out beforehand) when the baby is born!

  7. No, everything they said for a boy happened when I was pregnant with my daughter and vise versa now with my son.

The only way to tell is to have an ultrasound and even then it's not 100%, to be 100% you have to give birth.

  8. With my daughter i had no problems at all i was never sick never had any pain or anything if it wasnt for getting a belly and feeling her move around i would have never known she was there with this one which is a boy i was sick my back hurts all the time i have all kinds of pressure been so much more grumpy and all that fun stuff, so i guess you will just have to wait and find out!! But my grandma told me that boys are harder to carry then girls so i dont know

  9. this is my first. however, one of my co-workers is also pregnant, i'm about 2 months ahead of her. her symptoms are ALOT different then mine. she is having a boy. he is more active and pulls on the umbilical cord. she has horrible morning sickness she was even in the hospital because of it. her belly is very pointy. she is more sensitive to smells then i am. as for me, i am having a girl. hardly any morning sickness, just heart burn here and there, and my baby is not as active as hers. my belly is wide. that's just a few things. but you know what they say, every pregnancy is different.
