Are the protesters who dress up like polar bears the same ones who wore Reagan masks at protests in the 1980s?

Do these people just like to dress up and take to the streets and get on TV, maybe even get arrested, even if the cause they're supporting turns out to be completely wrong?

No, if they were in their teens and twenties in the eighties they would be in their late thirties early forties now.  With families and work to occupy them.

For that matter the real hippies are on social security now, and aren't into non prescription pharmaceuticals.

There have always been and always will be a certain segment of people with the passion in their belief to risk scorn and arrest for protesting the status quo.

You don't have to be one to appreciate the fact that they do believe strongly in what they believe.

No matter how odd their behavior may seem to the majority of us who just complain at home.

I wish we could identify these idiots.  Their heads should be shaved, a dunce cap put on their heads, and they should have to write 10,000 times, "We were completely wrong about President Ronald Reagan.  His strategy worked perfectly.  He forced the USSR to crumble.  He was brilliant.  We are idiots.  We do not deserve to even speak his name."

These protesters are also the same Cretins who burn the U.S. flag, but don't think two seconds ahead.  Everything they do is for the benefit of the camera.  For them, it's all about having their pathetic little 15 seconds of fame.

So they take the flag, and start burning a corner.  Then one of the basement-dwelling, IQ-challenged dunces will finally realize he didn't unfurl the flag, so as the flag is burning he tries to grab another corner and start unwrapping it, burning his hand in the process.

These moments are priceless.  Even Bart Simpson is smarter.

No, I think that particular group have grown up to the point they don't want to be identified with this sort of thing any longer!  We have a new bunch on the loose now.  That's not my way of protest, I would much rather try to recycle & conserve than to march around in Polar bear suits, especially in the summer time!  The Polar bears will survive, only not as the beautiful white ones we are used to seeing!  They will mate with the brown & black bears & learn to eat what they eat, it has happen to some already!
