is the puppies 12 week and 24 week shots the same as the 8 week shots

  1. yes the shots are all the same thing.

    The reason why shots are given several weeks apart is because the pup is at the age where his own immune system is developing, and he's loosing the natural immunity from mom.  He needs the shots so he can build his own immunity to those diseases.


  2. 8 week and 12 week are the same,16 weeks is same except they also get rabbis,not sure what area you are in at 1 yr after 3 rd set of shots ,they get rabbis and distemper,I prob spell ed that wrong,I am located Ontario canada

    Our pets by-law have to get rabbies yearly

  3. You puppy should be receiving vaccinations at 8, 12 and 16 weeks (not 24). They are all the same shots but the one given at the 12 or 16 week period will also include Rabies. They are given 3 times to ensure that the puppy has gotten a good dose of immunity against all of the diseases. It is very important to get all three sets and not to be late on vaccinations as your pup could get VERY sick.
